Lunch Time Leaders
Lunch Time Leaders objective is to ensure that pupils can be more physically active at lunchtime and to improve fitness behaviour and concentration. It also helps to develop year 5/6 pupils leadership skills by teaching them to run a lunch time Fun Fit club. Using the Freddy Fit kit bag we have developed structured playground fun fit activities and trained year 5/6 pupils to lead groups. We use cones to zone the playground.
Once the training is complete we encourage the leaders to use their own initiative in selecting and organising activities.
Under the guidance of midday supervisors, we made sure that leaders work effectively, Understanding the importance of respect for others, commitment and reliability.

We train the leaders to devise and manage challenges for other pupils to complete. They can report back in school assembly and celebrate pupil’s successes for skipping, speed jumping, balance etc.
They can record results and provide certificates. To ensure that all of these new initiatives run smoothly, we train and encourage the active support of teachers and midday supervisors.
